Referring to night and its charms, the young, multi-award-winning Arnold Trio pays a tribute to String Trio music of the early 20th century Hungary. “Evening in Transylvania“, a score of rare quality by Bartók’s pupil and friend Lajtha, evokes “the course of the seasons in the mountains and meadows of ancient Transylvania“ in a reinvented folklore. An Intermezzo by Kodály, followed by Dohnányi’s sparkling Serenade, close the journey in a bewitching fragrance reminding of the Austro-Hungarian Belle Epoque.
