I don't know why, exactly, but I have found that the needle and seat assemblies included in a Holley carb overhaul kit are sometimes shorter than the originals I removed, leading to this float adjustment issue. A high float level in your Holley carburetor can do some strange things - and on this car, we had three high float levels, causing it to be absolutely horrible at all times. Here's what to look for, and how to adjust the float levels on your externally adjustable Holley. And here's one more reason why I really don't like Holley carburetors. The good news? This barn find 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner V code car actually kinda runs ok now. So let's go ahead and fix the horrible exhaust problem, and then it's finally time for burnouts.
