The history of DAFs is fascinating, especially given the continued growth of sponsoring organizations, funds, and their impact on charitable giving. All DAF professionals need to be familiar with the history of DAFs, the diverse types of DAF sponsors, and the primary factors driving donors to choose DAFs and DAF sponsors. They also need to understand the fundamentals of the differing roles of donors, professional advisors, fund advisors, and staff in establishing and managing DAFs. Join Dr. H. Daniel Heist as he leads this webinar. Dr. Heist is an Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management in the Romney Institute of Public Service and Ethics at Brigham Young University. Dr. Heist earned a BA from Pennsylvania State University, a Master’s degree in Philanthropic Studies from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, and a PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on charitable giving, philanthropy, and volunteering. His nine years of professional fundraising experience inform his research and teaching. Dr. Heist is a leading expert on donor-advised fund research and co-founder of the Donor-Advised Fund Research Collaborative.
