This isn’t a love song, even though it originally started out as one, just a solo piano piece. I kept adding words and it slowly grew into something over five minutes long. My wife and I eventually agreed it was going in the wrong direction. And honestly… it was boring. I’m not much of a piano player either. 🙂 So a full re-work began, which ended up taking almost a month. In this version the vocals are faster, so I had to cut and shape them throughout the track, being careful not to lose Dave’s character in the voice. I hope it’s not too noticeable. It isn’t perfect in a few places, but that was the trade-off. A completely new chorus had to be written as well. The only thing that remains from the original is the piano intro at the very beginning. This is the result.
