I posted this video on my band's YouTube channel a few weeks ago. The lunar new year is around the corner. I have just been packed with so many tests. One of them required me to study 20 chapters! My dad said it should not be called a test, but an exam. I don't know, all I know is, high school life is busy, and playing music allows me to take a break. We were not going to have this video streamed tonight, but suddenly, I feel that it is highly likely that just one more video, the number of subscribers we get will roll over the 1,000 mark. I know, it’s not much but to us, that’s a milestone. Therefore, I am going to have this video cut inline, because I thought El Bimbo is one of our favorite instrumental songs. We’d like to use this to thank all of you who have been giving us continued support, and we’d like to give a big thank you to our new subscribers as well! It's chilly Friday night and we had to find food that will keep us one. As such, my dad suggested that we should have a traditional winter dinner, which has a extremely cruel name: cooking your son rice. I am glad I am a girl, so no one will cook me. I know, I sound so terrible! Of course, if one miss understands the meaning of this special winter delicious rice dish, it simply goes to show the word “boil” (or cook) doesn’t have to be a verb, but a verb noun (the pot itself). The real name of this rice dish is claypot rice, or Cantonese casserole rice. In case you don’t know what it is, here is some information: Claypot rice, or bo zai fan (煲仔飯), is a beloved, traditional Cantonese comfort food in Hong Kong, consisting of rice and various toppings slow-cooked in small, clay pots, often over charcoal stoves. It is famous for its distinct smoky aroma and the crispy, golden rice crust that forms at the bottom. Because it is directly cooked over a charcoal stove, the food ingredients and rice trap lots of energy inside and thus increase the amount of latent heat you have in your body. I know, I have just started taking physics and biology. If any one of you are biology and physics teacher, you will probably say I am making these all up. Yap, that’s what I had with my mom and dad tonight, and that’s what our band had last week after band practice. It was delicious! Yes, I feel warm now.
