Welcome back to another video! This presentation focuses on cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA). It is an immune-mediated condition to casein and whey found in cow milk, which typically presents in the first year of life. It is different to lactose intolerance, where the patient lacks the enzyme lactase and is unable to digest the lactose sugar. CMPA has two different subtypes, and can be Ig-E or non-IgE mediated. There are many different treatment options available, and they split into breastfed and formula-fed babies.
