Due to the ongoing heat, today as requested by a regular viewer, I decided to do a video on how we interpret or read body condition scoring in sheep. Although there are guidelines as to what each score covers, I believe it is still a subjective system. However, although the central scores may be interpreted differently, I do believe everyone can recognize both ends of the scale. The central sections are personal preference as to how you want your sheep to be maintained. I have put forth my opinions and preferences along with reasons why I feel this way. The goal is always to maintain as healthy, productive and profitable a flock as is possible. With sheep farming, there is always something new to learn. At Ewetopia Farms, we try to incorporate learning opportunities when we encounter them as we go through daily life on our working sheep farm. We attempt to show life as it truly is on our farm and to present things with a touch of humour.
