Six months on and 9,000 miles later since purchasing my cheap £800 Land Rover Freelander 1 TD4 - has it been a disaster or a bargain? The breakdowns, the costs, and my biggest issue with it are all revealed in this short update video. Initially considered (by me) as the worst Land Rover model of the late 90s/early 2000s, do I feel differently now? Despite owning many Land Rovers and Range Rovers before, the FL1 never really appealed; that was until I needed a workhorse in a hurry and this one was for sale locally. To my surprise, it's been a fun adventure but not entirely plain sailing. Whether you love or loathe them, there's no denying that if you want to get behind the wheel of a Land Rover, the Freelander is still the cheapest way to do it.
