Sidi Mahdy Amine delivers a sermon giving comforting practical and spiritual insights. More Sidi Mahdy: https://mcceastbay.org/mahdy The underlying idea in this sermon is: Prioritize spiritual matters: Focus your "affections on things above, not on things on the earth". Recognize the world is temporary: The "present form" of this world is "passing away," so believers should not become too attached to material possessions or life in this world.- "Seek first the kingdom of God": This means giving God the primary position in all areas of life, including finances, interests, relationships, and schedule. "Do not be conformed to this world": Instead, focus on transforming your mind through spiritual wisdom and guidance. Find contentment in all circumstances: As the Apostle Paul modeled, one should find strength and contentment through faith, regardless of whether things are going well or poorly. Ultimately, the question asks about one's perspective and lifestyle choices: whether you have established a proper balance and focus in your life, so that the world's temporary concerns and distractions do not overshadow what you consider to be your true purpose or eternal hom Mahdy Amine is a Zaytuna College alumnus and practicing attorney. He also teaches Islamic Studies at ILM Tree and he serves as Convert Care Coordinator for Ta'leef Collective. “I want people to feel the true beauty of Islam when they encounter Ta’leef. Was not our Prophet (upon him peace and blessings) the radiant embodiment of outer and inner beauty? One who saw him was in awe, and one who knew him fell in love. I hope Taleef translates that experiential beauty to a relevant American context while honoring the ethos and principles of the rich Islamic tradition.” More Sidi Mahdi: https://mcceastbay.org/mahdy Ustadh Mahdy Amine was born and raised in Chicago.
