Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Spread sunflower seeds on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. 3. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature. 4. Put roasted sunflower seeds in a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Just like making almond butter, you’ll need a bit of patience during this part. First, the sunflower seeds will be ground into a fine meal, and in about 5 to 6 more minutes, it should start to form a sticky ball. After the ball stage, it took another 5 minutes or so for the butter to reach a creamy consistency. It’s best to do so at intervals so the seeds ( and machine) don’t overheat. Taking a break every 2-3 minutes. The longer you blend the runnier the butter consistency will be. For a smooth sunflower seed butter, blend for about 15 minutes. 5. Once the homemade sunflower seed butter is ready, transfer it to an airtight glass container and keep this in the fridge for 2-3 months. It can also be frozen, for longer.
