Slickwraps Skin for the Razer Blade Laptop - Is It Better Than DBrand???

Here is our unboxing, review, and install of the Slickwraps skin for the Razer Blade 14" (2016-2017). Many people skin their laptops and other electronics for extra grip, protection, and aesthetic purposes. Dbrand is probably the most popular skin for these laptops. It is quite pricey at about $48 a set so I wondered if there was a cheaper alternative that was just as good or even better. They are both about the same price, but I've noticed Slickwraps goes on sale frequently. I got my set for 30% off and I've seen them sell wraps for up to 60% off before. One of the major differences is that Slickwraps includes a skin for the interior including the palm rest area. FYI, I chose not to skin the trackpad because I prefer the feel of the glass. The main problem that I encountered during install was the thin/long strip between the screen and keyboard (and that same area on the bottom between the back and the rubber feet). The adhesive is pretty strong (so strong that it will pick up your laptop when you peel off to reapply) and it takes numerous times to line things up because the cuts are VERY precise (pros and cons here). My guess is that after a few removals and redos, the 3M stretches just enough that you have a little "extra". I had to trim a tiny piece off of both areas. You might be able to avoid this if you get it done in your first few attempts. Overall, despite the slight modification, I am very happy with the black leather skin by Slickwraps!
