It is the sub-central city of Yunnan, its GDP ranks second in the province, and also the first choice for large-scale concerts in Yunnan, but few people have heard of it. It is Qujing, Yunnan. In January 2025, we set off from Beijing to Qujing. Before this, my knowledge of Qujing was limited to the fact that large-scale concerts in Yunnan were held here in recent years. Its colors, its character—all were mysteries. With a sense of adventure, we embarked. In eight days, we explored to most of the districts and counties under Qujing’s jurisdiction. In Xuanwei, we tasted astonishingly delicious ham. In Luliang, we witnessed farmers harvesting crops with remarkable efficiency. In Huize, a small county, we marveled at its seven high schools. Research revealed that Qujing, with half the area of my hometown (Changji, Xinjiang), supports 3.5 times the population—truly Yunnan’s second city. At the Nizhu River, we held back the trembling brought by the fear of heights and saw the youngest faces hidden in the primordial canyon. The cable cars that rise from the ground are indeed magnificent, but their purpose is not just to allow people from the mountains to "leave", but to allow more people to "stay", stay in their hometowns, stay with their children, and not have to travel to other places for a living. These stories moved us, and we want to share them with the world. Perhaps you, the viewer, knew nothing of Qujing before this—where it is, what it holds. But Qujing is ready. With open arms, fragrant delicacies, and breathtaking landscapes, it awaits every traveler. And Ancient Huize Town, which has retained its local atmosphere/has been transformed for comfort, wait for me, I’ll return for a vacation! P.S.
