Huntley suffered severe injuries during an attack inside a prison workshop and later passed in hospital. Authorities later identified Anthony Russell, a convicted triple murderer from Coventry, as the inmate suspected of carrying out the assault. But who is Anthony Russell, and what crimes led to him receiving a whole life prison sentence in the UK? In this true crime documentary, we examine Russell’s 2020 spree in Coventry and Leamington Spa, the investigation by West Midlands Police, the trial at Warwick Crown Court, and the events that eventually brought him to HMP Frankland. We also look at how two of the UK’s most notorious prisoners ended up in the same prison workshop.
