On Cam: Lanka Navy Rescues Iranian Sailors, US Torpedoed IRIS Dena Off Lankan Coast

The Sri Lankan Navy carried out a daring rescue operation to save 32 Iranian sailors who survived a US torpedo attack on the Iranian warship Iris Dina on 4th March. The attack occurred approximately 19 nautical miles off Galle, resulting in 87 deaths. Footage shows the Sri Lankan Navy rescuing survivors and rushing them to hospital for immediate medical attention. Sri Lankan President Anuradha Senaike issued a statement defending the rights of those struggling for life in high seas and urging all parties to exercise restraint, emphasising that international waters should not be used as a battlefield. Iranian authorities have requested Sri Lanka to return the bodies of the 87 sailors who lost their lives.
