Take it at your own pace! Use your gears for engine braking on steep descents to save your brakes, and don't feel rushed by the local minivans ​⛽ Fuel Check: Fill up your tank in Chiang Mai before you start. While there are gas stations in Pai, the mountain stretches in between are quite remote. ​🚛 Driving Etiquette: If a faster vehicle is behind you, use your left blinker to signal when it’s safe for them to pass. It’s a common local courtesy that keeps the traffic flowing smoothly. ​🔔 Blind Curves: Lightly honk your horn before sharp, blind corners to alert oncoming traffic. You’ll hear locals doing this often! ​🪪 Legal Requirements: Ensure you have your International Driving Permit (IDP) easily accessible.
