Carrying on with updating the build in segments, now it’s time for the engine updates! And there is a lot to go through here! Starting with the ITB’s, one of my first ever video was restoring the ITB’s, since then, I have learnt a lot more about restoration work and decided to revisit them. The coil over plug conversion was something I have wanted to do for years, so seeing this finally come to fruition is great. Using 30mm spark plug extenders, modified VAG coils and some more trickery, it is finally ready to go. The sump was next, and what a job I planned to avoid. But it was necessary, the first cuts were done when I first got the engine in the position I wanted to in the bay. I then had the huge task of making it back up and then modifying the pick up to suit. Final task was the gear selector, just something I missed to do before. But using the e30 325i selector on the e34 535i gearbox, it should be the correct distance for me, only time will tell.
