Spotted the 12619 Matsyagandha Express on its first-ever run with LHB coaches in its brand-new avatar! Just yesterday, this legendary train completed its final journey with ICF coaches, marking the end of an era. Introduced in 1993, the Matsyagandha Express connects Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Mangalore Central (MAQ), covering the scenic Konkan Railway route. The train was named Matsyagandha ("fragrance of fish") as a tribute to the coastal fishing communities along its path. Over the years, it became one of the most popular trains linking Maharashtra and Karnataka, known for its breathtaking journey through tunnels, bridges, and lush green landscapes. Now, with the introduction of LHB coaches, this legendary train gets a fresh new identity with improved speed, safety, and passenger comfort.
