This is my four-day crossing through the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. The landscapes were absolutely surreal : endless white, blue skies, and reflections that make you feel like you’re walking on the sky. The Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world, covering more than 10,000 square kilometers (about 4,000 square miles) at an altitude of 3,650 meters. It was formed thousands of years ago when prehistoric lakes dried up, leaving behind this massive, otherworldly sea of salt. It also holds one of the biggest lithium reserves on the planet, and during the rainy season, it turns into a natural mirror, literally reflecting the sky.
