Arriving from @darkskyfilms Films, Dooba Dooba is an analog-style horror film that leans into the unnerving intimacy of found-footage storytelling. Written and directed by Ehrland Hollingsworth (Homestead), the film unfolds entirely through in-home security camera footage, using static frames and domestic spaces to tighten the screws. After making waves on the festival circuit, Dooba Dooba opens in theaters and on digital platforms on January 23. The film follows a young woman who takes on what appears to be a routine babysitting job, only to discover that the house — and the child she’s been hired to watch — carry a far more disquieting presence. As the night stretches on, curious irregularities begin to accumulate, turning a familiar setting into a disorienting experience. By restricting its perspective to surveillance footage, Dooba Dooba turns observation itself into a source of tension, allowing unease to build through absence, repetition, and the things that linger just out of frame. Ahead of the film’s release, we caught up with writer/director Ehrland Hollingsworth and star Amna Vegha about shaping horror through limitation, the appeal of analog aesthetics, and how performance changes when the camera is meant to feel unseen.
