In Part 3 of this Gmail automation series, we build an advanced AI-powered inbox organization system using n8n that automatically decides whether an email conversation is finished or still needs attention. This workflow runs once per day, pulls emails from the Sent folder that are labeled “Awaiting Reply”, and processes them one by one. For each email, the automation retrieves the full conversation thread, cleans the data, and keeps only the actual text of the back-and-forth messages — no headers, no noise. That cleaned conversation is then passed to an AI Agent, which analyzes the entire thread to determine whether the conversation is finished or still active. ✅ If the conversation is finished, the workflow removes the “Awaiting Reply” label and adds a new label called “Actioned”, meaning no further action is needed. ⏳ If the conversation is not finished, the email remains labeled “Awaiting Reply”, so you know you’re still expecting a response. This approach helps you keep your Gmail inbox clean, organized, and stress-free, without manually checking old email threads. It’s especially useful for sales, support, client communication, and follow-ups, where missed replies can cost time and money.
