So, today we are out and about walking in the village and civil parish of Sutton Courtenay which is located on the River Thames just 2 miles (3 km) south of Abingdon-on-Thames and also 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Didcot. In 2011 the parish's population was 2,421. All Saints is the parish church which dates back to the 12th century. In the churchyard Eric Arthur Blair is buried also known as 'George Orwell'.
