The ballet arrived at a moment when its ideas around love’s timing felt touchingly close. Onegin follows a man who turns away when love is first offered, mistaking distance for strength. When he finally understands what he refused, time has already made its decision. Cranko’s choreography allows that realisation to sit, unresolved. This film moves inside that space. It documents private moments with Francesca, fragments of rehearsal, and the live ballet itself, seen from positions the audience would never normally inhabit."
