We Nearly Ran our Fuel Tanks DRY While Crossing the Southern Utah Desert.. | UTBDR E-4

Our fuel reserves BARELY took us across this stretch of desert.. In this episode, my friend, Carter and I are continuing our two week adventure ride across Utah. We left Moab and started heading further North into the second half of the route. Upon leaving town, we were immediately faced with a long stretch of desert (about 170 miles) and neither of us have taken our bikes that far between fuel stops ever before.. So, for the first half of the day we enjoyed our blissful ignorance and rode through some of my favorite terrain we've seen on the route so far. Then, in the later half of the day, we played the game of 'how long can we ride on the bottoms of our fuel tanks before we're completely out'.. It was a MAJOR learning experience and it showed us that both our bikes (in ADV riding conditions) are capable of the distance, but we cut it incredibly close.. The following day, the terrain got much easier and we traded the hot desert for the Uinta mountain range. We picked up huge elevation, temps quickly got much colder, and we made friends with the forest livestock guardian dogs.. I hope you guys enjoy!
