Pizza Cutter Handles from Zebrawood using the Rockler Pizza Cutter Kit - Great Christmas Presents

In this video I show turning pizza cutter handles from Zebrawood and use a Rockler pizza cutter kit. My wife wanted me to batch out Christmas presents again so I decided to make pizza cutters. I chose to use the Rockler pizza cutter kit because it is very sturdy and easy to use. The kit comes with threaded inserts for the handle and a special mandrel for the lathe that fits the threads. I chose Stainless Steel finish but the Chrome Finish looks great too. Zebrawood was chosen for its contrast in grain color. This is certainly an easy project for any turner. Those with better turning skills than I do can make the handles even fancier and those new to turning can turn simpler handles that will still look great and function well. I would, however, suggest a different wood than Zebrawood for beginners. Something like maple or walnut that isn’t prone to splintering would be easier to turn and sand. I tried in this video to give the viewer an idea of how I batched out fifteen pizza cutter handles for presents. For those who look at the details there were only thirteen blanks shown. One pizza cutter had to go off to the recipient before I made all the others. Another was made as a prototype to show my wife for final approval. In creating this video there may also be a few times where you may have noticed something out of sequence. I was trying to tell the story and used the best clips from literally hours of video to do so. Still some needed clips may have been missing. Later on this year I will be publishing a more detailed video on turning these handles. It will be directed to those who are new to turning and include tools and techniques.
