Certainly I can think of nowhere else in Sydney that just happens to own a contemporary Fazioli concert grand, an 1853 Erard fortepiano and a Blüthner baby grand restyled into a striking work of art by Poul Henningsen in 1931" - John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald 3 Pianos was commissioned for Phoenix Central Park’s Season III program – an all-new performance featuring a multigenerational trio of leading Australian pianists, improvising simultaneously on each of Phoenix’s pianos – a Fazioli concert grand, a Poul Henningsen and an Érard fortepiano. Together, Adrian Lim-Klumpes, Chris Abrahams and Novak Manojlovic fused the distinct textures of each instrument to create a single evocative and transporting piece.
