Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Rose || Making a Copper Rose from Scrap Metal

Thanks for stopping by! This is my attempt at recreating the enchanted rose from the 2017 Disney release of Beauty and the Best. I decided to use copper to make the entire rose. I got the idea to patina the copper from April Wilkerson (Link below). Since I just wanted the leaves and the stem to be green, I made sure to get all of that part of the project done before getting the ammonia out. The wire twist for the stem was based on a technique used to make wire form trees. (Link below) I was in such a rush to get the patina on so it could sit for 48hrs that I grabbed the wrong size bucket for my lid. I could not find the smaller bucket in my messy shop so I had to use packing wrap to seal it up. While I waited for the copper to patina, I drew up, printed, and cut out the petal pattern based on a video by Kovko Kova4. (Link below) Once the patina was complete, I was able to attach the petals. I used a soldering iron this time instead of the torch so I would not burn and discolor the petals. I used the same style as Kovko Kova4 to form the rose petals into shape. Once this was complete, all I had left was to attach it to the inside of a glass cover I found at Michael's.
