Liquid Gold was a British disco-pop group formed in 1977 in Brackley, Northamptonshire. Fronted by vocalist Ellie Hope and bassist Ray Knott, the band achieved significant success in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their most notable hit, "Dance Yourself Dizzy," released in February 1980, soared to No. 2 on the UK Chart and earned a silver certification for selling over 250,000 copies. The song also reached No. 10 in the Dutch Top 40 and No. 26 on the US Billboard Dance chart. Known for its infectious disco rhythm and energetic vocals, the track became a dancefloor staple. Following this success, Liquid Gold released other hits, including “The Night, the Wine and the Roses” and "Substitute," which peaked at No. 8 in the UK.
