The NAO VICTORIA 500 is one of the most outstanding projects of the Nao Victoria Foundation within the program of Commemoration of the V Centenary of the First Around the World. It is a full-scale replica of the ship that was the protagonist of this first circumnavigation, the Nao Victoria, to be docked in the Guadalquivir river in front of the First Round the World Space. Visitors ,after touring around the interpretation center will end their visit by getting on board the ship to be able to appreciate its decks, maneuvers and how the crew of the greatest maritime of all time lived on this ship. A replica whose shapes and details respond to an exhaustive historical study of how that legendary ship could have been through documentary sources of the expedition, chronicles, naval construction treaties, iconography of the time, etc. The NAO VICTORIA 500 has been built in a boathouse in Punta Umbría (Huelva) where the Nao Victoria Foundation previously built the Andalusian Galleon and very recently a replica of the Nao Santa María. The work began in February 2019 and was launched last February. After which, it was towed in Seville to leave it docked in front of the First Round the World Space (Paseo Marqués de Contadero) where the poles, the arborism and the exhibition content can be found too. The construction lasted for twelve months with intense work where all the trades related to shipbuilding, carpenter, caulking, netters, sailboats, engineers, etc. has participated. The craftsmanship starting from Iroko logs, real wooden sculptured will be the most showy pieces of this new ship. Regarding the dimensions and the characteristics of the sail, the NAO VICTORIA 500 has a length of 26 meters, a beam of 6.6 meters, a draft of 3 meters and 3 masts in addition to the bowsprit, which fly 6 sails with a surface area of ​​290 square meters. This full-scale boat is permanently located in the Guadalquivir river next to the Interpretation center being a visual claim of great impact for the city of Seville.
