I have performed this weight loss procedure on many thousands of people with excellent results. The Gastric sleeve also makes most people not feel hungry which is of great benefit. If needed, I can easily convert the Gastric sleeve to the Duodenal Switch in the future in case of inadequate weight loss. Indications I normally perform the Sleeve Gastorectomy on patients of BMI 35 and up. Men who are big portion eaters do great. Women who are more “grazers“ or “snackers” as well as some men will do much better with a more malabsorptive procedure such as the Duodenal Switch Nutritional Issues Gastric Sleeve patients have a relatively low risk of malnutrition, similar to Gastric Lap Band.
