This was a Winter Snow Day-Hike on January 15, 2026 @ Frog Lake Sno-Park in Mount Hood National Forest, Oregon. The Hike is the Twin Lakes Lollipop starting @ Pacific Crest Trailhead, Hiking up to Lower Twin Lake, Upper Twin Lake, and on to the Junction with the Pacific Crest Trail and Back to the Trailhead - 7.3 Miles and 1100 FT Elevation Gain. This is an unseasonably historically warm 25'/26' Winter Season, High of 47F, Low of 36F - I deployed YakTrax Summit Foot Traction Devices, although I would always prefer YakTrax over Snowshoes on this Hike due to the generally blazed compressed Trail and ease of movement. I would take the deal of a few sections of postholing in areas with no Forest Canopy over the perma-clunk of the Snowshoes for the duration of the Hike. Both Lower Twin Lake and Upper Twin Lake were completely Frozen over!
