I learned this song from my wonderful brother Terry Brown, who is three years older than me. ❤️ Terry used to come home from school every day and sit at the piano for hours to figure out the popular music that we heard on the radio...music by solo artists like Elton John, Carol King, Joni Mitchell... and also the really cool classical rock bands like Yes and Genesis...and often he would patiently teach it to me...my 7 year old self...small, blonde and determined...👧 Years later, my friend Gilbert would sing it in with his lovely deep voice in Washington Square Park and we would back him up with lovely sonorous four part harmony that lifted off into the NYC air. 🎵 This tune, Superstar, by Leon Russell, always stirred something inside of me...what do you think of it on solo cello? 🎻 If you want to be able to turn pop tunes into your own unique versions on the cello, like this one...
