Riding my Honda XR600r in the California Desert!

Just out for a day ride with a larger group—13 riders on this campout and desert loop. It was a fun, social cruise as we hunted for hill climbs, ripped through washes, and picked our way down some rocky drops. I’m still dialing in my camera setup and figuring out what works best. So far I’m loving the full-frame mode on the GoPro 13, shooting in log, and doing a bit of recomposing in the edit to nail the angle. I have mixed feelings about how the desert shoots. Midday light makes everything look a bit barren and flat, and the GoPro’s wide lens doesn’t quite capture the real scale of the climbs or terrain. Things definitely get prettier later in the afternoon. Still loving my XR600—the Gravitas front rack for the Baja Designs light is working perfectly with this setup. I’m just going to keep plugging away at documenting these rides. I’ve got knee surgery this week, so it might be a couple of weeks before I can get back to posting moto content.
