The evening began with the United States national anthem, followed by a ceremonial salute and march by uniformed officers. Distinguished guests, community leaders, officials, and families attended the grand Desi Gala in large numbers. A devotional bhajan was also presented during the program. The hall was beautifully decorated in traditional Desi style, and the master of ceremonies warmly welcomed guests while appreciating the efforts of the Department of Correction. The vibrant cultural program featured music, traditional attire, and colorful performances that lit up the evening. Dr. Maryam Singh, Trustee of the Desi Society, expressed pride in the appointment of capable members of the Sikh community to prominent positions in the new city administration. The Desi Society of the Department of Correction was also honored with citations from various American officials in recognition of its services.
