Wednesday, March 30 @ 11:00 AM – Georgina Island First Nation “Sacred Water and Indigenous Consultation” Due to icy waters, the Roadtrip Crew will be connecting virtually with members of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. We’ll learn about some of the incredible work being done by the community to protect local bodies of water and species, the traditional role of women and water, and we'll discuss the importance of Indigenous consultation in matters of environmental conservation. https://georginaisland.com/ Note for teachers: Roadtrip programs will be presented with a level of language that is accessible for all grades, but themes explored in this session can be directly linked to the Ontario Science and Technology Curriculum for Grades 7-12. The [Great] Lakes Roadtrip is presented by the Toronto Zoo’s Great Lakes Program (GLP) and Turtle Island Conservation (TIC). For over 20 years, the Great Lakes Program has provided free conservation programming to members of the public and students across Ontario.
