For today's special Black Friday review, I've decided to do a comparison review of two beers from the Bell's Brewery, their Expedition Stout and Bourbon Barrel Aged Expedition Stout. Both of these are the 2018 Vintages, and since the bourbon barrel aged version is getting rave reviews, I wanted to see how it stacked up to its base counterpart. Let's see what I think! Commercial Description: (Expedition Stout) - One of the earliest examples of Russian Imperial Stouts in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with aging in mind. A huge malt body is matched with a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruit and other aromas. The flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages in your cellar.
