If you've already chosen to circumcise your son, the best thing to do would be to talk to the pediatrician once you're already in the hospital because the timing and the billing process is kind of determined by them. Each pediatrician has their own set of rules and information. Some do it on the day that you leave the the hospital and others do it two weeks later in the office. The cost that's associated with it is a little bit different depending on the facility and on the doctor. Again, it would be best to talk to them at that time and they can give you the best information. Now, it is true that Medicaid doesn't cover the cost of circumcision and so the doctor would just require a cash payment at the time of service but, again, they can talk to you in more detail about what that would be.
