Worshipping God in Spirit and Truth. Why is obedience and submission the first requirement? God thought us in Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 4, Deuteronomy 5 and Deuteronomy 27, Exodus 34….. God repeated to Moses time after time Worship the Lord your God and Do not worship any other God. Why is worshiping so important and why are we correlating worshiping to obedience and submission? What is worshiping? Answer: For a Christian to worship is to submit and to obey the one and only true God. John 17:3 To obey is to submit to an entity completely and when you submit to that entity you enter into a state of worshiping. Then to worship it also means to perform religious rites such as to prostrate oneself, to praise, to sing and pray to an entity that you submit and obey. Isaiah 45:5, "I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides me there is no God," If you do not Obey God, you do not submit to God and you do not worship God in Spirit and in Truth. What does it mean sister? You can pray all night long but if you don’t live a life of submission and obedience you do not worship God truly. Jesus said in John 4 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” What does it mean to worship the father in Spirit and in truth? Answer: It means to worship the father by obeying his commandments, covenants and laws fully…with all your heart and with all your mind. If you don’t obey his laws Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 4, Deuteronomy 5 and Deuteronomy 27, Exodus 34 and many more you do not worship him in spirit and in truth. Your mouth say you follow God but your spirit doesn’t. Jesus resume all of the commandments and he simplified them all. Matthew 22:36-40 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Worshiping God correctly means to Obey and fully submit to God. Worshiping God also means to Adore God. It also means showing profound honor, devotion, and adoration to God through religious rituals like prayer and services. It also means giving extreme respect and admiration to God the father which involves sacrifices such us: your time and to obey God’s law no matter how hard it is. It also means to forgive our enemies when they wronged us, feeding our enemies when they are hungry, shelter them, saying No to corruption and stealing from others even when we are hungry and desperate. it also requires praying to God when we feel desperate instead of following the path of the wicked. Jesus could’ve accepted the devil's proposal but he chose to wait on the Lord and follow God’s commandments. Jesus rejected corruption and worship the devil. To worship God means to say no when your boyfriend ask you to have sex outside marriage (Do not fornicate) To worship God and to obey him also means Do not worship other Gods because they will keep you bound for many generations. You should not worship money and God. You should not worship the things of this word and worship God. 1 Timothy 6:10 Exodus 20 4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor [b]serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[c] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. What’s the problem with worshiping other Gods and spirits? Answer: You will be bound to them. They will corrupt you. First they will demand worshiping prayers from you Second those spirits will ask you for sacrificial food. Third they will demand blood sacrifices: Animal blood and then human blood. If you worship money you will sell your soul, prostitute yourself, you will sell your children and kill people for money and power. Yes. There's a spirit behind money as well. When you do that…all of your generation sons and daughters will be cursed and all of you will experience suffering: mental, spiritual, financial, emotional and more evil will be spread around you. God said exodus 20 “For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting[c] the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” Therefore, do not worship other gods and spirits: money, people, images made by human hands, etc. To worship God and to obey him also means Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong (exodus 23:2)
