Building Self-resilience in Northern Uganda Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Action Against Hunger (ACF), and Welthungerhilfe in partnership with PALM Corps have secured a four - year funding from the European Union (under the EU - TF) to support livelihood initiatives in Northern Uganda. The project aims to build greater resilience and self-reliance among refugees and host communities in Yumbe, Adjumani, and Arua districts. As per the project’s theory of change, 6 outputs have been designed to enable the achievement of that objective and they include: · Increased financial inclusion (output 1), · Enhanced carrying capacity of allocated land for refugees & increased food productivity all year around (output 2), · Improved production, productivity, and added value of nutritious agricultural products (output 3) · Small service providers supported through flexible demand, market-oriented skills training (output 4) · Increased access to private sector jobs & internship opportunities (output 5) · Strengthened value chains & market linkages for both refugees & host communities (output 6). Each consortium partner is responsible for delivering at least one output with PALM Corps being the technical leader for output 6 (value chain strengthening and market linkages). PALM Corps will work in close collaboration with the other consortium partners to mainstream the value chain approach in the other components.
