Trying Elgar‘s original metronome marking at least for the first rehearsal yesterday (Dec 2 2021) with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife and my friend, wonderful Eivind Gullberg Jensen who is supporting my quest of going for Elgar’s markings rather then the performance tradition - and the last movement is from today’s dress rehearsal… Oh, and before anybody complains about the masks 😷 - I’d prefer 1000 times to play with a mask than not play at all!!
