We begin by preparing our abilities before heading into Tchigolith Fenlands, where we’re ambushed—but quickly deal with the attackers. From there, we arrive at the Clockwork City of Goug, though Mustadio immediately senses something is wrong. Mustadio asks Ramza and the party to investigate Lowtown while he looks into matters elsewhere. As rain begins to fall, the search turns dangerous. From the shadows emerges Ludovich, holding Mustadio captive and demanding a Zodiac Stone in exchange for his life. When hesitation remains, Ludovich reveals Besrudio, Mustadio’s father, forcing Ramza’s hand. The stone is thrown… and Ludovich coldly remarks that it should bring a smile to the Cardinal’s face. Another betrayal. After the battle, Besrudio warns that Ludovich plans to use the Zodiac Stones to awaken ancient machines. But Mustadio reveals the truth—the stone was a fake, crafted by his own hand. The real Zodiac Stone remains safe… for now. Still, doubt lingers. With Princess Ovelia and Agrias under the Cardinal’s protection, Ramza begins to fear a greater plot at work. Suspecting an attempt to control the Zodiac Stones themselves, the party makes a decision— They will rescue Ovelia and Agrias.
