Get your tickets here: https://www.zigzag-jazzclub.berlin/me... Kurt Rosenwinkel and Gerald Clayton are among the greatest masters of their craft. Both have built impressive careers as leaders and sidemen, consistently setting new standards with their projects. With their duo A Lovesome Thing, these two exceptional artists pay tribute to the legacy of Geri Allen, who passed away in 2017 and remains a major source of inspiration for both musicians—and for the modern jazz world at large. Kurt Rosenwinkel - The American multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer has gained international acclaim for his deft artistry and unbridled individualism since his first appearance on the New York music scene in 1991. His legacy as the preeminent jazz guitar voice of his generation is evident on his eleven albums as a leader, each of which has been an inspiration to legions of musicians young and old around the world. Collaborations with Eric Clapton, Q-Tip, Gary Burton, Paul Motian, Joe Henderson, Brad Mehldau and Donald Fagen are just a few highlights from a remarkably diverse and extensive catalog of over 150 sideman recordings. Gerard Clayton was born as the son of the great basst and Bandleader John Clayton. He performed with Dianne Reeves, Diana Krall, Roy Hargrove, Ambrose Akinmusire, Kendrick Scott, John Scofield, Terri Lyne Carrington, Avishai Cohen, Peter Bernstein and the Clayton Brothers Quintet. He is also one of Charles Lloyds closest collaborators. His trio albums consolidated his reputation as a brilliant composer and performer. His third Blue Note album as a leader, “Ones & Twos”, came out recently. 00:00 Pensativa 12:46 Openhanded Reach Recorded live at Zig Zag jazz club in Berlin on 20.07.2025 Kurt Rosenwinkel - guitar Gerald Clayton - piano Audio recording - Jeremy Nothman Video and audio mixing - Alexander Hoetzinger #KurtRosenwinkel #GeraldClayton #GeriAllen #JazzLive #JazzBerlin #ZigZagJazzClub #JazzDuo #ModernJazz #JazzGuitar #JazzPiano #VictorsPlaces
