The Dýrbítur is truly lethal when it comes to fish brown trout and sea trout here in Iceland. I presume it will indeed work for Steelhead and rainbow as well, but those species we don't have in our waters here in Iceland. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing and is really effective! It's ok to try out some experiments with the colours but most common is black, white, olive, pink and orange. Just play around with the colours at your wise and let me know if you catch something. Pattern Author: Sigurður Pálsson. Hook: Ahrex NS118 #8. Bead: Gold. Thread: 8/0 black. Tail: Black marabou + 5-6 strand of silver flashabou. Body: ½ Silver chenille & ½ black chenille. Legs: Rubber legs olive/black. Hackle: Black rooster or black hen.
