A tour of Upper Tamakosh Hydropower Plant I shot back in 2023 during my internship. The video highlights major electro-mechanical machinery used in the plant, providing some semblance of how medium-sized hydropower plants are arranged. This video doesn't explore the complexities of plant design but is useful to get a feel for the inner workings of power plants. Upper Tamakoshi as of 2025, is still the largest hydropower plant of Nepal. This internship felt more like a vacation than work. Think highly remote location, intense short hikes, exotic ecology and the massive plant itself waiting to be discovered. Not studied mind you, discovered! Also thanks to the tremendous engineers of the plant for treating us with love and strictness. I couldn't have learnt as much as I did without your guidance. Dai(big brothers) haru are truly among the premier hydropower engineers in Nepal. My thanks goes in order: Er. Jeetendra Dev Chhetri (Electrical Engineer) [Wouldn't have learnt the deep EE details without him] Er. Prashant Neopane (Mechanical Engineer) [Wouldn't have learnt the deep ME details without him. Also, very philosophical person. Fun to talk to.] Er. Bikram Shrestha (Civil Engineer) Er. Goverdhan Shrestha (Civil Engineer) Er. Aziz Rahman (Mechanical Engineer) Kumar Rana (A legend at UTK, just go to UTK and ask about him) Hari dai & Giri dai (Harry & Gary) [The plant WILL NOT operate without these two. They literally know every nook and cranny] Er. Purna Gopal Ranjit [For facilitating the internship] And finally: Prof. Pramish Shrestha [For offering to arrange the internship in the first place. Thank you for giving me ultimate exposure to the heart of hydropower engineering.]
