Although it is not illegal to be LGBTQ+ in Rwanda, discrimination is still a problem. But despite discrimination; Rwanda is a safe haven for some members of neighbouring Uganda's LGBTQ+ community. Ahmed is 29 years old and says he fled Uganda after he was tortured by members of the security forces in his native country, because of his sexuality.
