When Marvel first announced the Blade film, I was ecstatic. But now, I'm not even sure if this movie will ever see the light of day in its current form. Recently, it was reported that director Yann Demange has left the project. This wasn't breaking news as it happened a while ago, but it still raises a lot of questions about the future of Blade. The production has faced multiple setbacks: new writers, scheduling conflicts with star Mahershala Ali, and now another director departure. This is the second director to leave, following Bassam Tariq, who didn't inspire much confidence given his limited filmography. The situation is further complicated by Ali taking on other roles, suggesting potential delays. Marvel seems to be struggling with development, as seen with other projects like Fantastic Four. They're bringing in bigger names to try to salvage Blade, but it feels like there's more going on behind the scenes. The statement from insiders about focusing on quality over quantity sounds promising, but it also feels like spin. Blade has been in development for over five years with little progress.
