BIYB Brentwood Remembrance Parade 2025

We dedicate this video of The Brentwood Remembrance Day Parade 2025 to Mr Fred Adamson, of the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI), part of "The Polar Bears", the 49h (West Riding) Infantry Division, who passed away on 12th Sept 2025 aged 105 yrs. One of the last of an incredible generation. We Will Remember Them. The Band is proud to keep the 'Polar Bear alive' - the emblem of the 49th West Riding Division whose long history should not be forgotten including the liberation of much of the Netherlands 80 years ago. There were some 90 members on parade raging in age from 10 years upwards. It was the first Rememberance Parade for 17 of the musicians. Membership of the Band is open to all those 10 years or older. No musical experience is necessay, we provide tuition, instrument for just £1 per week. We practise on Monday and Thursday evenings throughout the year. We are a registered UK charity and self-funded and run entirely by volunteers, all of whom are unpaid – no payroll and no expenses. The band staff includes several professional musicians and a cast of very keen accomplished amateur hobbyists – all are motivated by first hand experience of how music can change lives.
