No longer should patients with varicose veins see a doctor who "does" the scan themselves .... As The Whiteley Clinic has been preaching for the last 12 years, NICE (National Institute of Health and Care Excellence) has now issued guidance that patients with varicose veins and leg ulcers should be referred to specialist teams. There should be doctors and nurses with specialists who perform Duplex Ultrasound - and have endovenous laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy and all of the latest endovenous techniques available.
