This is a hands-on ABAQUS tutorial on RVE modelling of unidirectional composites. It focusses on assessing the effect of fibre distribution on the mechanical response of UD composite. The video explores the setup of an ordered and random positioning of fibres within a 2D RVE and in the end generated contour plots of tensile and shear deformation for both distributions. Also, stress-strain and effective properties of the composite were determined to help show the effect of fibre positioning on the mechancial behaviour of the UD composite.
