This is the raw timelapse from the session. I will be assembling a more detailed build video soon. With no room for a 4x8, or even a 4x4 system in our small shop, this one new feature of the M-series is already paying for itself. I'm working on a 4' circular walnut sign for a law officebut the bed on the M.1000 is obviously not large enough to do the carving on top. I also have a Shaper Origin handheld CNC that I've used in the past for these kinds of oversized projects since it's another tool you can bring to the material. I used the Shaper for the initial circular cuts, and while I could have used it to do the entire sign, my VCarve tool paths have a lot of pocketing would have taken a while, particularly with all the bit changes. I left the shaper tape on the panel just in case I needed to use it for anything else. Now, enter the M.1000, I can just place the panel underneath and let it do its thing over a 2'x3' area. I started with a test pass on a piece of plywood. For this project, I couldn’t use the auto tool changer but would have avoided it anyway. I output separate tool paths and just used the ATC for quick bit changes.
