Uses a traditional tune with words by Reino Palmroth. Performed by Matti Jurva in 1942. Whilst the UK supported Finlands fight against the soviet regime in 1939, a different tune was heard in 1941. In 1941 the UK bombed the Finnish port of Liinahamari in Petsamo in "Operation E.F." without an official war declaration. The reason was that german troops were stationed there. The operation ended in disaster for the brits with heavy casualties and only two german cargo ships sunk. A finnish civilian was wounded. On Finnish Independence day 6th of December 1941, Britain declared war on Finland. the bishop of Canterbury refers to either Cosmo Lang who in 1941 "prayed for the soviet people" and encouraged brits to regard them as allies despite having previous years constantly criticized the soviet regime for their anti-christian stance. Or it refers to his follower William Temple who got the position in early 1942, and was a known socialist. Reino Palmrothin sanoittama laulu Matti Jurvan esittämänä vuonna 1942. Kansansävel.
